Background
- The MyTIGER Values is an art and design competition initiated by Maybank Foundation since 2018 in conjunction with the Global Tiger Day, which is celebrated annually on July 29 with the intention of raising awareness about Tiger Conservation efforts.
This year marks the 9th edition of the MyTIGER Values Art Competition (MTVAC), reaffirming our continued commitment to nurturing the arts as a meaningful platform for expression, advocacy and nation building.
Anchored on Maybank Foundation’s three core pillars — Empowering Education, Community Empowerment and Environmental Diversity — MTVAC continues to champion the role of art as a vehicle for dialogue, awareness and positive societal impact. Through this platform, we empower young artists not only to showcase their talents, but to use art as a powerful medium to contribute meaningfully to society and the planet.
- The foundation of the MyTIGER Values Art Competition is based on Maybank’s T.I.G.E.R. core values — Teamwork, Integrity, Growth, Excellence and efficiency, and Relationship building, and in support of the 12 out 17 United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that aims to end poverty, promote planetary health and ensure that communities can enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030. The focused goals are namely; no poverty, zero hunger, good health and well-being, quality education, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, decent work and economic growth, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production, climate action, life below water, and life on land.
